The Stories Behind Our Success

Guillaume Bouvier

Assistant Manager

Cascades Tissus Group – Kingsey Falls

Guillaume Bouvier began his career at Cascades in 1997 as a process engineer for the Research and Development Center in Kingsey Falls. Very early on in his career, he was entrusted with great challenges, such as the installation of paper machines and deinking units in a plant.

In 2000, Guillaume's career took a new turn when he was named person responsible for product development for the Cascades Tissue Group. This mandate caused him to travel all over North America and Europe.

In 2005, Guillaume "came back to the fold" when he became Director of the Research and Development Center, where he had earned his spurs. He managed a team of 35 scientists that were dedicated to the development of processes and products for all Cascades units.

Today, having secured the position of Assistant Mill Manager with the Cascades Tissue Group – Kingsey Falls, Guillaume remembers: "My supervisors were always very open with regards to training, in order to help me develop certain technical and management skills. Above all, I had the opportunity to work with people who, like me, want to accomplish great things."

Caroline Tremblay

Corporate Director, Human Resources
Norampac

In 1999, Caroline Tremblay was hired by Cascades as a manager in training for Human Resources. Her superiors quickly saw that she had a strong hunger to learn and improve herself; barely five months after she began, she was offered a position as Human Resources Manager. "As soon as I started with Cascades, people had immense confidence in me as a human resources manager, despite my young age and lack of experience", remembered Caroline. "Thus, I was quickly given various mandates that required initiative and hard work."

Looking to gain work experience outside her region, Caroline has held the position of Human Resources Manager in Kingsey Falls, Montréal, Eastern Canada, and New York. "Throughout my career, I have had the chance to be surrounded with people who believed in me and backed me regardless of the challenges being faced", confirmed the young manager.

Since 2007, Caroline has been Corporate Director of Human Resources at Norampac, thus heading human resources management for all the Boxboard and Containerboard divisions at Cascades. A challenge worthy of her ambitions!

Éric Paré
Plant Manager
Cascades Multi-Pro

Originally from the Beauce, Éric Paré studied mechanical engineering at the Université de Sherbrooke and was hired by Cascades when he finished his studies. Barely two years later, at the age of 24, he became one of the youngest production managers in the company. In his own words, "Cascades gives people the chance to grow and develop. They feel fulfilled by their work, and want to give their all since the company has put its trust in them." Again today, Éric continues being promoted within the company, having recently been nominated as plant manager at the paper and boxboard converting plant, Cascades Multi-Pro.
