Luc Langevin

Luc Langevin was born on January 24, 1964 in Coaticook (Québec). After completing his elementary and secondary studies in the region, he obtained a diploma of collegial studies (DEC) in pure and applied sciences from the Séminaire de Sherbrooke. He pursued his studies at the University of Sherbrooke and received a Bachelor of Applied Science (mechanical engineering option) in 1988.
He immediately began his career as an engineer for Shell Canada Products at the Montreal East Refinery, where he assumed various technical responsibilities in maintenance, projects and in energy conservation. After 5 years, he returned to school full-time to get a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the HEC in Montreal, and he also completed part of his program at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium.
He joined Cascades in 1995 as plant manager at the Converdis unit, located in Berthierville. In 1997, he was promoted to the position of General Manager for the Cascades Conversion Group. In 2001, he was given additional responsibilities for Papier Kingsey Falls (PKF). With the reorganization of the Specialty Products Group (SPG) in 2007, Luc was appointed General Manager of the Industrial Packaging sector of the Group. This sector regroups 10 units and generates annual sales of approximately 300 million dollars. In the performance of his duties, Luc is also a member of the board of Cascades Sonoco. In May 2011, Luc was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of the Specialty Products Group, a group that includes 45 unites and more than 2,600 employees, with annual sales of approximately 900 million dollars.
Luc is also very dedicated to his family, as he is married and the father
of 2 young children.
