Kingsey Falls, September 20, 2013 – Cascades is the proud recipient of the Air pur 2013 award (shared with Transport Bourassa). The award, which was presented at the 22nd conference held by the Association des mandataires en vérification mécanique du Québec (ASMAVERMEQ), honours companies with the cleanest fleets from an environmental standpoint, based on the quality of their maintenance practices. This is Cascades’ second honour, having won the Air pur competition back in 2007 when it was first launched.
The winning companies are selected based primarily on truck maintenance and environmental performance criteria. "Our vehicles are subject to stringent maintenance schedules that exceed industry standards, in the aim of reducing our fleet’s ecological footprint," explained Jean-Yves Delisle, General Manager of Cascades Transport.
Cascades Transport provides local, regional and international transportation and logistics services to its Cascades plants. In addition to the Kingsey Falls terminal, Cascades Transport, which has a fleet of 130 trucks, also operates terminals in Drummondville, Montréal and Cabano. The transportation division adheres to the same values that Cascades is renowned for: protecting and respecting the environment. That is why it works daily to implement innovative practices to reduce its fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Founded in 1989, the ASMAVERMEQ works to educate the Québec transportation industry about the importance of investing in road safety to ensure that mechanical inspections and preventive maintenance activities are of the highest quality.
